ADVANCED CRIME AND MYSTERY WRITING GROUP

Mission statement
To provide candid, detailed criticism of the work of dedicated writers of crime and mystery fiction who share the goal of publishing novels.

Guidelines
1. Members need not be published but must be serious about getting published.

2. The group is for advanced writers with competence in the basic elements of novel writing, including character, plot and point of view, along with the mechanics of grammar and good writing.

3. The group meets weekly.

4. Submissions can range from 1,000 to 10,000 words, depending on the size of the group.

5. Members submit weekly.

6. Members provide written and oral critiques, as well as marked up hard copy.

7. We will be candid and constructive, with the committed goal of helping each other improve.

8. All members must be current, dues-paying members of the Knoxville Writers Guild.

9. Admission is by application and invitation. Those interested will be asked to submit samples of their work. Members will review the work, come to a consensus and inform the applicant.
