Grant
Fetters
Creative writing for me started just a few years ago. I had a reoccurring dream about a grasshopper that wanted to see the world. This dream must have been about my life, and what was about to happen. I did not ever think of myself as a writer. I suffer from a mild form of Dyslexia, and when I am tired, it gets worse. Reading was always a problem and writing was always avoided. Not until I was introduced to Audio Books did I fall in love with reading/listening to books. I could not get enough of them. I now have a very large and growing library of audio books.
I have always been a story teller and from that first time I sat down in front of a computer to write my little children’s story book “Horace the Hopper”, I found that I have a lot to say. My BS degree is in Mechanical Design Engineering. I have been doing machine design/drafting for the past 20+ years. In my spare time, I write mostly short stories and memoir style accounts from my past, but I have been delving into fiction with a passion.
My main interest is in YA, Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery, and Memoir style of writing. Right now most of the stories I write are short, under 20,000 words with a few that have the potential of going to 100,000 or more. My newest book is in final draft. “What Would Grant Do?” is a collection of short stories from a time when I lived with my grandparents on their farm in Michigan . Release date will be in late April 2011.
