Flossie McNabb

Flossie McNabb received her B.A. in English from UT in 1974 and immediately went to work for a furniture store. After 12 years in the furniture business she entered the graduate program in English at UT. In 1989 she received her Masters in Writing and began teaching English as an adjunct at Roane State and Pellissippi State. In 1994 Flossie decided to go back into retail. From 1994 until January of 2000 she worked as a bookseller for Davis-Kidd booksellers where she helped host author events and worked with many of the reading groups. It was at Davis-Kidd that Flossie became involved with the Knoxville Writers' Guild and she met many writers at the bookstore who wanted to be involved in a writing community. Flossie has poems in Voices
From the Valley
and All Around Us, two Guild publications, and an essay in Breathing the Same Air. In 2000 Flossie wrote a monthly column," About Books" for the KWG newsletter. Flossie believes in the Guild as the best gathering place in the Knoxville area for writers and readers to meet and support one another in their love of books.
