Pour is taken from The Iron Mountain Review Part of the Knoxville Writers' Guild mission is "to promote writing and creativity in the wider community through education, publication, and sponsorship of writing-related events." Beginning in 2002, we have added another goal: to begin a tradition of honoring local writers whose career achievements deserve the recognition of the wider community that is the Knoxville metropolitan area and our region as a whole. Please join the Guild in applauding famed East Tennessee and North Carolina author Wilma Dykeman for the myriad achievements of her career. Read more.... In addition to the Career Achievement Award, winners of the KWG's annual contests for short fiction, poetry and essays will be announced. This awards program will feature a cash bar, dinner buffet, music by the Rocky Wynder group as well as appearances by TV personality Edye Ellis, News-Sentinel columnist Don Williams, area writers and poets Laura Still, Marybeth Boyanton, Judy Loest and others.
