Literary Anthology CoverLiterary Anthology a Treasure!

The theme for this year’s anthology is “diversity.” Poems, essays, photographs, short stories, song lyrics, and even a novel chapter are represented. Contributors include Cynthia Markert, Connie Jordan Green , Brian Griffin, Marilyn Kallet, Linda Parsons Marion, Hector Qirko, and Jack Rentfro , among others.

To order copies of the book, please click here. Or, purchase the book at Union Avenue Books, 517 Union Avenue, in Knoxville or Southland Books, 801 East Broadway, in Maryville.

Portrayed in the anthology are an encounter with a Siamese twin, a ride on the night bus out Magnolia Avenue with a woman going home from work, and conversations at an Oak Ridge book club. Sitting in your armchair with this volume, you can travel from the Smokies to Paris to Greece to Old Mexico.

Many of the book's contributors live in far-flung place, but they all have one thing in common: a connection with East Tennessee. The anthology provides a forum for many whose work has never before been published. Each KWG collection in the past has served as a springboard for new writers.

Kay Newton and Doris Ivie edited the book, assisted by Martha Yarnell (Committee Chair), Kim West (Designer), Meg Bensey, Carole Anne Borges, Judith Duvall, and Cathy Kodra.
