Tim Joseph
is a published novelist and poet. His 2000 novel, Four-Fifths
is a deep emotional literary work. A man journeys deep into the
innermost workings of his mind as four-fifths of his soul is
ripped away through loss of love; a little girl helps him recover.
He discovers the naked truth about intense love, painful loss,
fierceness of evil, justified murder, the treasure in a child's
kiss, and the very purpose of life. Four-Fifths
won the 2002
Word-Weaver Award of Excellence.
His new book (2002), Reflections On Love, is a
collection of short verse poems, thoughts, and narrative on love
and life he wrote to his wife and soul-mate as he pondered his
love for her, the nature of mankind, and the purpose of humanity.
It's a serious, humorous, and loving journey inside the very
nature of love and life.
His second novel, Four-Fifths Endowed, is complete;
four children's books of a series are finished; a poetry book
is in editing; a third novel is nearing completion; and two other
novels are in the making.
Timothy is a scientist and teacher by training holding a BS.,
BS.Ed., MA., and PhD., and he's in the 2002 Who's Who in America. Tim has numerous technical
journal publications, and received a 1999 Technical Communication
Award of Excellence
by the Society for Technical Communication. Yet he will tell
you that above all else, nothing ranks as important to him as
being a writer. He has been a high school teacher and science
department head, university and college professor, corporate
division director, and senior scientist (presently). Of those
he says the most rewarding and valuable was the challenge of
high school teaching. Toward that end, Dr. Joseph continues to
volunteer his time by giving Creative Writing talks at local
high schools, and organizations. As well, each year he teams
with a local high school in publishing a major federal document
with students from a creative writing or communications class.
Asked by a High School student what his goal as a writer was,
Tim answered, "To leave behind every fiber, every word,
and every feeling of love I can, in action, and on the written
page." Tim does that in his novels, poetry, children's books,
essays, and letters to his family.
Tim and his wife Marsha enjoy long weekends on the water anchored
in some quiet cove on their houseboat. Nourished by the serenity
and beauty of the lake and sky, Tim writes, while Marsha reads
and works on needlepoint. Tim has a son and daughter; both his
soul-mates. On life, he says, "There are just not enough
ways to tell my wondrous wife, my beautiful children, family,
and my special friends, how much I love them, and how they truly
are my life." Autographed books can be acquired by writing
