R.B. Morris

R.B. Morris, poet, singer, songwriter, was born in Knoxville. In the '80's, he edited a literary magazine, Hard Knoxville Review, which attracted a cult following in this country and in Europe. Morris has published two volumes of poetry, The Man Upstairs (1988) and Littoral Zone (2004). He also wrote a one-man play, The Man Who Lives Here is Loony (1992), about the turbulent life of writer James Agee and later played Agee in a video version of the play.

His CDs include Take That Ride, Knoxville Sessions, and Zeke and the Wheel. He was also one of the artists on Real: The Tom T. Hall Project. Morris lives in the historic Fort Sanders neighborhood in Knoxville and is currently the University of Tennessee's Writer-in-Residence.
