John Parras received a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship in Fiction Writing in 2004. He studied at Carnegie-Mellon and Columbia universities and has been the recipient of a Columbia University President's Fellowship, the Pauline B. Adamson Award for Fiction, and the Maurice Robinson Award for Professional Writing. John Parras

His novel, Fire on Mount Maggiore, was a finalist in the Associated Writing Programs Contest in the Novel in 2004. His creative work has appeared or is forthcoming in Painted Bride Quarterly, Quick Fiction, Salt Hill, XConnect, The Dominion Review, Gulf Stream, Oasis and other literary journals. He teaches Creative Writing and English & American Literature at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey.
