John Reaves
John Reaves is one of the founding members of the Knoxville Writers' Guild. He has served as treasurer and just completed a stint as editor of the KWG newsletter, The East Tennessee Writer.
He co-authored the book, How to Find Help for a Troubled Kid. He received a second place award in the Les Garrett Fiction competition for "Rose Moles All in Stipple." He also writes poetry, but he won't let anyone but his wife, Candance, see it.
John currently is Associate Professor of English at Pellissippi State Technical Community College. He and Candance, also a KWG member and writer, have team taught creative writing courses for PSTCC. John received his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, his MA from Stephen F. Austin University, and his BA from Centenary College.
He and Candance live in Fountain City with their foundlings: Berta, the Dalmation; LP, the attack rabbit; and Taki and Maggie, the cats. John's hobby is his organic garden, where he grows delicious Brandywine tomatoes and other luscious veggies.
