Stacy Jones
Stacy Waller

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, in November 1973, Stacy Jones grew up in rural southwest Tennessee. The youngest child of parents already in their 40's, she discovered a passion for language and narrative early on.

Stacy earned a degree in poetry writing as an undergraduate at the University of Memphis. She went on to earn a master's degree in English at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she received a graduate poetry award and was a featured reader of original poems at various Knoxville area venues. Her work culminated in a book of poems titled Rivers of Urgent Breath, presented as the master's thesis.

After graduation, Stacy taught as an English instructor at UT for five years. In 2004, she returned to the University of Memphis to work on a Master of Fine Art degree in fiction writing. She is currently working on her first novel under the direction of Professor Richard Bausch. She also writes a weekly column for The Daily Corinthian, a small daily newspaper in northeast Mississippi.
