About the event
Created in celebration of the United States' 250th anniversary, Declaration: I Am Tennessee is a powerful collection of poetry and short prose from 30 Knox County writers reflecting on the people, places, history, and spirit of Tennessee. Initiated by Knoxville Poet Laureate Linda Parsons, this collaborative work between the Knoxville Writers Guild and the East TN Historical Society captures what it means to call Tennessee home. Funded by the State of Tennessee.
