The Knoxville Writers Guild (KWG) invites the community to join us on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Addison’s Bookstore for a free program, Embracing Authenticity: How I (Mostly) Overcame Imposter Syndrome, featuring Maryville-based writer and educator Sheri McCarter.
Imposter Syndrome often whispers, “You’re not good enough”—especially for writers stepping into their craft later in life. In this thoughtful and encouraging presentation, McCarter will share personal experiences and strategies for pushing past self-doubt, embracing an authentic writing voice, and finding support within the literary community, including resources through the Blount County Public Library.
About the Presenter: Sheri McCarter is a writer, educator, and writer-in-residence at the Blount County Public Library. She co-edited Vietnam Voices Volume 4, authored “Eddie’s Apparition” (Howling Hills Publishing), and has contributed numerous articles and stories to regional publications.
